With the support of the Fondation Handicap Malakoff Médéric and the Fonds Saint-Christophe, IFCU has launched a new project to assist students with disabilities from the university to the business world. Four member universities of the Federation (Institut Catholique de Paris, Université Catholique de l’Ouest, Université Catholique de Lille and Institut Catholique de Toulouse) participate in this initiative to promote professional integration and which is fully in line with the social responsibility of Catholic universities.
This project will be structured around two concrete and participatory actions: coaching sessions for students with disabilities and awareness workshops for teachers. The first editions will start in October 2019.
The coaching sessions will aim to give practical advice to students in order to help them in their professional integration and to inform them about their rights. Speakers from the business world who will share their experiences will facilitate these sessions.
Awareness workshops will be offered to teachers who have or will taught to students with disabilities during their classes. The aim of these workshops is to help teachers to better understand their relationship and interactions with students with disabilities.
For more than 6 years, IFCU has been committed to the issue of the inclusion of students with disabilities, which is a major concern for all actors in higher education (rectors, professors, students, administrative staff). This new project marks both a new stage and continuity in this dynamic, which has been under way since 2013.
