‘Catholic Higher Education in India’ Seminar

 Delegates from several Catholic Higher education institutions from all over India debated, discussed and made several presentations.

 

In delivering the keynote address, Secretary General of the IFCU, Msgr. Guy Réal Thivierge gave 12 indicators on the identifying characteristics of a Catholic Higher education institution. He drew on his vast experience across the world to highlight the role that higher education institutions play in multi-religious contexts. This was followed by several presentations on the situation of Catholic Higher education in India and the several challenges and potentialities that  Catholic Higher education in India have to encounter.

 

Christ College, Bengaluru, India Inaugurates new campus in Bengaluru

 

In-between the Seminar, there was an inauguration of a new campus of Christ University at Banergatta road in Bengaluru a few kilometers from the main campus. This new facility has a provision for 50 classrooms and 800 hostelites. Msgr. Thiviergie was invited to inaugurate one of the wings of this new campus and address the 1,000 plus invitees at the inauguration.
