World wide Survey of Youth Culture in Catholic Universities presented at Xavier Board of Higher Education, General Assembly in India
This year about 250+ institutions participated in its 22nd Triennial conference and General Assembly that was held at Sahrdaya College of Engg & Tech., Kodakara, Trissur, Kerala. On the theme ‘Challenges and Prospects in Higher Education, Opportunities for Innovation and Networking’. Over 350 delegates participated in a well organized and animated meeting opened by the local Bishop of the Irinjalakuda diocese and by the Chairman of the CBCI commission on education and culture.
Of the several presentations Msgr. Guy Réal Thivierge, secretary General, IFCU. made a significant contribution to the meeting in a presentation of the world wide survey of the IFCU on youth cultures in Catholic universities. It was well appreciated and raised serious interest in the results of the study and the IFCU itself.
Rev. Dr. Barnabe D’souza. Sdb Deputy Secretary General also chaired a very engaging session on networking and Innovations in Higher education.
The conference concluded with a grand cultural display of song and dance by the students of the local higher education institutions of the area and a new election of some of the board members. There were several regional and board office beares continuing terms or newly elected. The president elected was Fr. Leslie Morais while Sr. Anamma Philip continues as Secretary General of the XBHEI
