Sectorial Groups: a Family Affair
It is quite common for specialists of the same or similar disciplinary fields to work together, to share points of view inherent to their specific cultures without, however, losing sight of their diversity. This is done within the IFCU by the sectorial groups. They are composed of faculty members and representatives of various departments of colleges or universities who share a common discipline or area of expertise in terms of subject matter, teaching and research.
Discussions centered on a common theme, organization of specific colloquia, projects and research activities, teacher exchange programs, publications and consultancies are all ways in which partners work on the consolidation, development and dissemination of their knowledge and the achievement of the academic, ethical and spiritual aims of the Federation, making them concrete and dynamic within the member institutions.
Theologians, philosophers, ethics specialists, economists, political scientists, specialists in medical sciences, education, communication, the family, the environment, agronomists, to name but a few, have all participated in such groups and work together according to the different modalities they have established for themselves. The Sectorial Groups of IFCU are:
